14th October news

Wet 'n' Wild Saturday

Well, definitely wet! 24 hours of rain on Saturday, but the forecast is a bit intermittent in terms of rain in the North for the next fortnight, so we'll see if the requisite softer ground conditions are available at the likes of Ayr, Hexham, Newcastle, Musselburgh etc. in 3 or 4 weeks time.

Meanwhile, we still plan to find a race or two for our 2 flat horses between now and the end of November. Princess Apollo and See My Baby Jive are both sprinting types so the pair worked together, at a sharp pace over a shorter distance.

Also stepping up their work as their fitness befits, were a group of six horses. They worked in pairs, with the first time up the gallop being steady, and a wee bit faster second time.

Not quite ready for faster work, the following horses completed a couple of steady canters.
Dali Mail, The Boo Box, Stainsby Girl, 'Henry' and 'Adam'.

Which left Lucarno Dancer, 'Jean' and Danced Every Dance to come up just the once as their fitness comes along nicely.
