The family

Eternally Yours is the second foal out of the Dodlands Steading trained racemare Well Disguised. Picked up by Donald as a 3yr old at Doncaster Sales, Well Disguised raced for Al Duncan and 'Lucky Dave' Leslie for whom she won 4 hurdles and was placed numerous times in bumpers and hurdles.
Well Disguised is a half sister to that useful staying jumper of Paul Nicholls' French Executive, the winner of 7 races over jumps including the Sussex National. Her full sister, Thirty Days Out was also trained at Dodlands and was placed several times in bumper and hurdles.
The granddam, Executive Move, unraced but a half sister to useful hurdler/chaser Parson's Green, who won 7 races for Nicky Henderson in the early 90s.
Family traces back to the Scottish National winner Cockle Strand.
Thus far, Well Disguised has produced 4 living foals, and in addition to 'Thimble' there are a year older full sister (injured as a yearling), a half sister by Yeats (b 2015), and a colt by Midnight Legend (b 2016).
In 2017, she is in foal to Pethers Moon, due June 2018.

About the sire

Bred by the Niarchos family and trained by Patrick Bary in France as a 3yr old (winning the French Derby), Sulamani (bay horse, b 1999) continued to prosper as a high class racehorse for Godolphin over the next 2 seasons. He added no less than 5 Group 1 victories to his tally for Godolphin.
Sulamani was campaigned successfully far and wide notching up victories in UAE, England, Canada and the USA. He showed winning form from 10-12f and seemed best suited with a little give in the ground.
To stud in 2005, he spent several years standing as flat stallion at Darley Studs in Newmarket, Brazil and France. First crop included a Classic winner in Mastery, and he has sired numerous Stakes winners in Brazil.
In 2011, he was acquired by Richard Venn on behalf of the Cashman family to stand at David and Teresa Futter’s Yorton Farm in Shropshire as a National Hunt sire. He has sired several classy jumpers in his time, the most prominent being the 2016 Grand National winner Rule the World, while Cash 'n Go is a Grade 1 winning hurdler.
Sadly, though Sulamani passed away in January 2017.

Form Summary

Owner breeder Al Duncan (I'll bet he likes the sound of that description - ed) came to us with some encouraging reports of how well his young filly had taken to the start of her education with Tim Reed.  Having been brought up at Malcolm Imray's Eildon Hill Stables (where a couple of 2016 Royal Ascot 2yr old runners were bred), she was quite a nervous sort being away from the company of a couple of her pals for the first time. Nevertheless, she took well to Tim's patient handling and was working very pleasingly up his all weather gallop in a matter of weeks, before returning to the Scottish Borders at Dodlands Steading .

Of course, this is a family that Donald and his team know very well, with both mother and full auntie spending several seasons racing for the yard. And sure enough, initial reports back to her owner were along the lines of 'she's working just like her mum'. Quite a complement, as Well Disguised (and sister Thirty Days Out) were excellent morning exercise horses, taking their work riders to the top of the gallop each day with ease.

Eternally Yours is an athletic filly, just that little bit long in the back, and has pleasingly furnished into an attractive frame, at just a fraction under 16.1hh.

Having done everything she was asked to do in the 3 or 4 weeks after entering the yard, the filly spent the Autumn of 2016 strengthening and maturing in a field just across the road from the stable yard. Eternally Yours returned to full training just after New Year, and continued to impress the team on the gallops, working well with Paper Promise who went on to finish a fine second on her bumper debut in May 2017. We almost ran this filly, but felt an extra few months to furnish would do her the world of good. And it has, as she has summered very well putting on some nice condition.

She's back in the yard from early August, and we'll look to give her a racecourse appearance in a bumper before the end of 2017.
A very promising filly!!
