The family

See My Baby Jive is the first foal out of the unraced Royal Applause mare Lady Fiona. She also has a filly (born 2017) by Hellvelyn and in 2018 is again in foal to that sire.

Grand dam Perfect Echo ran a few times on the AW at 3 & 4 for Marcus Tregoning winning over a mile at Lingfield as a 4yr old. She has bred a couple of multiple winning horses in Perfect Silence and Perfect Muse (by Oasis Dream).
Perfect Echo is a full sister to the Listed-place broodmare Perfect Peach, herself the dam of 4 winners, and also a half sister to winning sprinter Perfect Brave.

From the family of 16-time winner Offa's Mead.

About the sire

Irish genius Aidan O'Brien trained Coach House (bay h born 2011) for the Coolmore lads in 2013, the only season the sprinter ran (as a 2 year old).
He was best at 5f ( beaten when odds-on on his only try at 6f) and won two of his 5 races, including a Listed event at The Curragh. His best run was when a length runner up to No Nay Never in the Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) at Royal Ascot.

He has stood at Bucklands Farm & Stud in Gloucestershire since 2015. As a son of the excellent sire and top class sire of sire Oasis Dream, Coach House had plenty going for him as he set out on a new career at stud. He started well with a book of around 100 mares in his first season followed by ~75 and ~ 60 in subsequent years.

He has had quite a number of individual winners from his first crop to race (as 2yr olds) in 2018, the best being triple winning sprinter More Than Likely.

Form Summary

A bit of a new venture for Dodlands Steading.

In November of 2017, Donald & Callum travelled down to the Goffs UK Doncaster Sales ring for their back-end Horses-in-Training and Yearling sale. This Coach House filly was their prime objective, so they were very pleased to bring her home to Dodlands. Along with a yearling colt purchase by Pastoral Pursuits, the pair are the first two year olds to be trained at the yard that we've bought as yearlings.
Incidentally, the colt is a nice type but a bit more backward than the neat See My Baby Jive and will reappear as a 3yr old.

During 2018, the filly has been in training at Dodlands. But we've taken things steady with her, See My Baby Jive has had a couple of easy periods during this time to mature and strengthen.

Since the middle of August, we've stepped up her work and she's been thriving. So much so, that we bit the bullet and gave her an introductory debut run over 6f at Newcastle in October.
She acquitted herself quite well, and has now been roughed off and will spend the late autumn and winter months away from the yard where she will strengthen and mature. See My Baby Jive will return to the yard in the spring of 2019 to embark upon a 3yr old flat career.

Current Season Form
2 July 19 Hamilton Park : 6f Novice Stakes (Class 5) good (good to firm places) 8 ran (Jason Hart) - 5th of 8  (beaten 6l)                            Video
Dwelt, soon recovered, chased leaders, still with chance when hung right final furlong
Fine seasonal re-appearance from See My Baby Jive. She has done well physically in the past 6 months and showed a good deal of speed here. She did run quite green from halfway and hung right though. Promising.
Previous Season Form
17 October 18 Newcastle : 6f Novice Stakes (Class 5) standard 12 ran (Rowan Scott (3)) - 9th of 12  (beaten 8l)                                           Video
Soon prominent, good speed 4f, weakened over 1f out
This was a racecourse debut for See My Baby Jive, and she acquitted herself quite well. She ran as if a drop back to 5f may suit. She possesses ability but may be at her best next season.
