Saturday morning at Dodlands
Aye, it took us a little by surprise as well - snow in October?
Still, we exercise the string each day, so although the woodchip gallop was covered with a layer of snow, we used the nearby lanes and our (grass) Round the Camber gallop for some light exercise.
Hawaii Klass has been back in a couple of weeks now, and he had a spin on the grass in company with Sam Patch and Nodda High Kid.
Incidentally, Nodda High Kid may not be too far away from a racecourse reappearance, but will prefer a sounder surface than we are currently experiencing in the north.
Not too sure if Musselburgh will suit, but we are scouring the Racing Calendar.
Next lot contained Snapping Turtle, and a couple of our unraced
geldings, 'Bill' and 'Ben'.

Carlisle review (last Thursday)
Mini the Minx jumped well on her handicap hurdling debut but probably found 2½ miles on soft ground an insufficient test of stamina, finishing in 7th. She's certainly suited by heavy underfoot conditions, and given a little respite by the handicapper, we believe that she will be competitive over 3 miles on a course like Newcastle or Hexham.
It was probably quite a good bumper in which
Yinfortheroad found himself. He also finished seventh, not bad, but still no-where as good as his
regular morning work would suggest.
He's already been schooled over jumps, and we'll look to start his
hurdling career soon.
