From the gallops, yesterday.....
Paper Roses (Milky) and
Keyboard Gangster (Kingy)
made an earlier appearance than usual on the gallops, with the pair
doing a couple of steady spins Up the Middle.
Paper Roses has come out of her race well at Kelso last Saturday. She
has been schooled over poles already and, especially now the ground has
seen some much needed rain, the mare will be schooled in our jumping
lane. There's a mares only hurdle at the end of November that is a
possibility, and some more opportunities in December if that comes too
soon.
Looking back at Keyboard Gangster's debut run at Perth, it will be no
surprise to learn that a slower, steadier regime is in train with the
gelding.
Six horses made up the second lot
all did three canters, with the final one done at slightly quicker pace.
The others in this group, did a couple of pieces of work

Third and final lot consisted of
They all worked nicely in a couple of spins on the woodchip. Two of our unraced 4yr olds did an extra, quite brisky piece of work as the other trio set off back to the stables. Both 'Katie' and 'Cliff' are carrying a little bit of condition, working well though, and absolutely devouring their feed in the mornings and throughout the day.
Baby Ticker (Aidan), leads 'Sid' (Garry), the hidden Goodknight Percy (Sarah), 'Katie' (Milky) and 'Cliff' (Callum)
Weekend eye-catchers
As chosen by The Saturday Morning Gallop Watchers.
Top award this time goes to our teenage weekend work rider Matthew King
('Kingy'). Matthew was picked to play scrum half for the local U18 side
Hawick Wanderers, whose match was brought forward to a noon kick-off due
to the international match v Australia (where once again a defeat was
clawed from the jaws of victory). Anyway, 'Kingy' popped down to the
yard first thing to ride out the first 2 lots, before dashing off to
play for The Wanderers.
Thanks Matthew, it's really appreciated.

Of the horses on view, Potassium Partnership's Nick B was impressed by
the
Definite Article gelding ('Arthur'). He's progressing nicely, we're
not overfacing him as yet, as he's still a bit on the weak side.
However, he's another that does not leave a drop of food, and is bright
and sparky.
He takes this month's impressive horse award from TSMGW.
