See My Baby Jive makes her debut tomorrow
Our 2 year old Coach House filly
See My Baby Jive
makes her racecourse debut at Newcastle tomorrow evening, facing 11
opponents in a novice stakes over 6f. Hawick jockey Rowan Scott comes in
for the ride.
'Grace' has been pleasing us with her progress during the summer, and
we're sure she will come on again for the racecourse experience.
We had hoped to run
Princess Apollo on the card as well, but she was balloted out the 5f
handicap. That's the third time in 10 days that our sprint filly has not
made the cut, and is quite frustrating especially for her owner Steve
Chamberlain and friends.
The BHA are looking to host additional meetings as incredible as it
seems, there have been 1,500 horses balloted out of races since the
start of September.

Meanwhile, on the gallops....
It was another excellent day as all of the string exercised, and improved their fitness a fraction.
Well, I say all of the string, but we had 8 horses vaccinated (annual 'flu' jab - have you had yours yet Ian?) at the weekend. Ideally, this would have been done while the horses were still at summer grass, but hey ho. Anyway, it did set a couple of the younger horses back a touch so they've been doing just one canter each morning although they'll be right as rain in a few days.
Talk of Ian Aitken, we now have his August NH Sales purchase back in the
yard. 'Hope' is a filly by Shantou and has settled in grand. On first appearance she looks racey and
fairly well forward as a newly educated 3 year old.
'Hope' is cantering with the string, and we'll see just how far she goes
(in terms of weeks) in training before she shows signs of needing a
break. This is normal for our youngsters, and we reckon of giving such
horses a couple of months out of training to strengthen and mature.
