Two runners at Ayr on Saturday
As the tension mounts for next week, Ayr host their annual pre Cheltenham Festival Saturday meeting. And we've a couple of runners.
In the opening 2m 4½f novice hurdle,
The Boo Box attempts to
make amends for a below par hurdling debut at Carlisle 3 weeks ago.
Whilst not expecting our Scorpion gelding to get his head in front, we
think he can show some promise in this race.
Our near neighbour Katie Scott runs her winning hurdler Stoney Path and
he could well be contesting the finish with Welsh Rarebit (couple of
fine runs at this course) and Nicky's Carry On Arcadio if he improves
from his eye catching debut here last month.
Oh, and former Dodlands' inmate Bluefortytwo (now with James Ewart) will
surely improve upon his hurdling debut here in November, and could run
well.
And really there are several other promising sorts in what is a fascinating Northern novice hurdle.

Our other runner is Eternally Yours who runs in a hot renewal of the Craigie Cup, a Class 3 (0-140) 2m 4½f handicap hurdle at 4.30.
She'll be suited by the soft ground, but this is a step up in grade for
the mare who has been raised 11lb following her win in a Class 4 mares'
only event in December.
There are some smart performers in this race, headed by McCain's classy
Uppertown Prince who takes a drop in grade. This is a wide open handicap.
Best of luck to our owners tomorrow, and Callum who takes both rides.
