Fine runs without success at Ayr yesterday
The stable continued the theme of having horses running well on the
racecourse but not quite achieving success (if success is measured by
first past the post).
We've had a spate of placed horses in recent weeks and again
Eternally Yours ran well
in second place in the handicap hurdle at Ayr yesterday.
Callum settled the mare towards the rear off a fierce pace,
which took its' toll on a few of the well-fancied horses who were pulled
up on entering the home straight. But Eternally Yours, jumped very well
throughout, and made good headway to dispute the lead 3 out. But Callum
reported that she 'blew up' slightly before catching her second breath
and staying on the one pace from 2 out.
She looked destined for third place before Seemorelights capsized at the
last leaving Crixus's Escape to prevail by 5 lengths.
A nice enough run after 10 weeks off in a competitive handicap, and we hope to look for something similar in 3-4 weeks time, as the handicapper would be harsh to put her mark up on this evidence.

Earlier on in the card, The Boo
Box put up a much improved performance when finishing 6th in the
middle distance novice hurdle.
He still ran quite green in the early stages of the race but settling in
midfield, he travelled and jumped better as the race went on. Whilst not
able to keep pace with the leading group after 4 out, he kept on nicely
in the home straight to show promise, albeit at a modest level, for the
future.
This well made Scorpion gelding has furnished nicely into his frame and is the type to improve for racing, as he is no slouch on the home gallops.
