Princess Apollo runs in the finale at Ayr today
Not quite Glasgow Fair just yet, but Ayr stage the first of 4 consecutive Monday meetings in July this afternoon. The going is good to firm.
Princess Apollo takes
a step up in trip today at Ayr, where she runs in the card closer at
5.30. It's an apprentice handicap over 7f which is a bit further than
her recent runs (over 5f) but she did start out for the yard over 6f.
Strictly on breeding (via sire and dam), you'd opine that the minimum
distance would suit her best but her grandam was best at 7f (and stayed
9f) so we think it's worth a go.
Tim Easterby's young apprentice Danny Redmond is in the saddle. Danny has yet to ride a winner in Britain but has considerable experience across the Irish Sea where he has 34 successes to his credit.
Good luck to the lads from Cartmel, and enjoy the day.
