In depth analysis.
In this hotly contested stable competition, long time leader The
Jockey saw himself usurped from top spot on the last racing day for the
stable in 2018.
It's only half-time though, but some
interesting conclusions can already be drawn from the leaderboard.
- These
Whillans boys know their horses, although insider dealing is
suspected.............
- The only person to nominate all 4 of the stable winners so
far (5 horses + reserve) has been Helen Simpson
- Garry 22 v Callum 20 : As in life, big brother knows best
and leads by 2 points
- Helen Simpson 19 v Al Duncan 14 : For all the good it has
done in making a 100 mile round trip each week to the Saturday
gallops, Al may just as well have had a long lie in bed in his
Edinburgh flat
- The Trainer 16 v Freddie Whillans 16 : The Trainer is
pleased as punch with himself on 16 points as hours of thought
went into his selections. He was less than pleased when it was
pointed out that his 2yr old grandson also has 16 points
- Security Officers 1 : Hamish & Alfie need to spend
more time with the form book rather than searching for strange
smells around the yard
So,
lots to play for in the second half of the season, and competitors
are reminded that they can now replace one of their selections with
their nominated reserve, although reserve points are only accumulated
after 1st January.
The competition will run until 27th April, or such a time thereafter
when Callum Whillans is in front.
