Thoughts post Musselburgh
Eternally Yours ran 4th in the mares only bumper at Musselburgh today........can we run the race again?
Dali Mail returns to Kelso for a bumper
Our grey gelding Dali Mail seeks to add to the promise of his 3rd place at Kelso three weeks in the bumper at Kelso tomorrow. And in opposition are opponents from yards of The Usual Suspects - but which is Keyser Söze?
Heavy ground, seven runners. Two from Rose, two from GNWTLR, and one each from Susan Corbett and Harriet. A pattern is starting to emerge here.......Grrl Power indeed!!
Dr Hooves impressed many when runner up at Musselburgh to a good horse
from Keith Dalgleish's yard, and equally impressive was Hitman Fred,
also a runner up, this time in Dali Mail's bumper 3 weeks ago (we were
beaten 3 lengths). Debutant Tupence is from a family literally strewn
with bumper winners and several classy performers - he must be a
major player especially in receipt of a 4 year old allowance of 9lb.
Bell Ofthe Bongate is a 4 year old filly and, in receipt of a further 7lb
allowance, will be running around loose. She is flat bred though and may not be
suited by the testing conditions tomorrow.
Which just leaves the additional runners from GNWTLR and Rose - Blaydon
and Vintage Glen respectively. Blaydon is fairly stoutly bred and is the
sort that you'd
expect would come into his own over 3 miles and fences (famous last
words), while Vintage Glen is a home-bred TrevorHemmingsGelding who'll
be looking to step up on his debut at Haydock in December.
A bumper well worth sticking around for at the end of Kelso's Morebattle Hurdle card. We'd prefer a strong gallop but although Dr Hooves raced prominently last time, he may be held on to in these conditions.
Fascinating race, Callum takes the ride and good luck to John & Nicola Mackin on the day.
Dali Mail leads a couple of his mates in a recent gallop
