13th February news

Eternally Yours runs at Musselburgh tomorrow

On Wednesday, late in the afternoon just before lights out, Musselburgh stage a mares only bumper and we run our Sedgefield winner Eternally Yours.

She carries an additional 7lb due to that win, plus headlamps, and due to the time of the year has to give a further 10lb away to any 4 year olds in the race.

And there are three such horses in opposition, two of whom competed in a 'junior' bumper over 12 furlongs in December last year at Wetherby - namely Perfect Myth (trained by Harry Whittington) and GNWTLR's Chouquette. Perfect Myth was 2nd in that race with Chouquette a further 6 lengths back in 5th. Giving 17lb to that pair with promising form is a very stiff task. And that's not discounting Laura Morgan's well bred newcomer Zakharova, a half sister to 2 bumper winners out of a dam who won 5 times on the flat. Hmmmnnn.........

Of the remainder, GNWTLR runs another couple - making it three in total - who again have shown indications of ability in previous bumper runs with perhaps Blue Baton the preference over Rubydoobs. Scobie has the 6 year old mare Indian Opera, a once raced ex-Pointer and the field is rounded off by Brother Ali's Wise Coco who got stuck in the mud last time but showed ability on her debut on good ground at Kelso in November.

We'll see how Eternally Yours fares in this race, and hope that she can still be competitive despite the weight concession.
