Further schooling for Percy
In our last snippet of news of our 3yr old gelding, we mentioned that Goodknight Percy, with Tomahawk Wood, had travelled a few miles across the valley to Simon Shirley-Beavan's yard where we were able to school the gelding in an excellent outdoor arena.
We'd been popping 'Percy' over our own poles and schooling lane but followed up yesterday with return to the Bonchester yard.
Callum was delighted with the gelding's jumping, and he gave the feel
of a horse who loved the thrill of jumping. It proved quite an intensive
session for 'Percy' who jumped around a couple of dozen obstacles.
Baby Ticker was the other
horse we schooled, and she'll have some more practice before getting
into action this season.
But for 'Percy' that just leaves the search for a suitable juvenile hurdle event, at a
track with some give in the ground.
Shouldn't be too long, though.
