Kelso review
Well, Mia Matriarch didn't get any further than the 2nd flight, stumbling badly and unseating Brian Harding. Our mare returned to the paddock unscathed, and we hope Brian is not too badly shaken (he's down to ride at Carlisle tomorrrow as I write).
Charlie Bucket ran well
for a long way in the 3m 3f handicap hurdle, he travelled much better
with Callum switching off the gelding and steering a berth wide of the
other runners. Probably a mixture of first run of the season, and
extreme distance (he is by a miler in Sugarfoot) meant that Charlie
tired from 3 out.
But the tactics will be re-employed, and we feel quite confident that
the chesnut will break his duck at some point this season.
Charlie Bucket (Callum) jumps a hurdle well yesterday at Kelso
Carlisle tomorrow
Snapping Turtle makes his chasing debut at Carlisle tomorrow. His is a promising horse for this season, but all our horses seem to be needing the run, so we'll be looking for a nice run, with a safe round of jumping.
