Pallas Lord back on the turf at Redcar
Redcar 7th April : 2.57 pm 7f 0-70 Handicap (Class 4)
Outings on the turf for our All Weather hero are as rare as hens' teeth but Pallas Lord is a course & distance winner at Redcar where he makes an appearance with Jason Hart in the saddle.
In fact on
closer inspection, Pallas Lord actually won this race 3 years ago, off a
4lb lower mark. He's been in fine form in recent weeks at Newcastle.
So.......
Good luck, lads.
Two runners nearer home at Kelso's jumps card
Kelso 7th April : 2.15 pm 2m 6½f 0-115 Handicap Hurdle (Class 4)
It's been a dry couple of weeks which has fairly restricted runners from our yard, and it's not really to our advantage at Kelso tomorrow (good ground).
Still, we're giving
Shoeshine Boy a run.
He's back to his last winning mark
(OR106). This is also his highest ever winning handicap mark and on
ground a bit livelier than he would prefer, he faces a stiff task against
9 opponents.
Diamond Dealer seems to reserve his best runs for a sound surface and may come out on top here.
We hope Mouse Young and his fellow local owners enjoy the day and Murray Dodd again claims 7.
Kelso 7th April : 4.45 pm 2m NH Flat Race (Class 5)
The concluding bumper, sees the racecourse debut of Ellistrin Bay, a 6yr-old son of Clovis du Berlais.
Henry Brooke comes in for the ride and best of luck to owner/breeders Ron & Eileen.
Lucinda's Irish Point runner-up The Hatchet sets a fair standard to aim at, and he is expected to improve upon his opening bumper run when 4th at Ayr. Scobie's Port Station is unraced but comes from a family of bumper winners, and he could be interesting in this small field of 6.
