Well, runners from Dodlands have been few and far between during this past month. A prolonged dry spell - seems a regular occurrence each Spring these days - has left the ground on the fast side of good, which doesn't really suit our yard. Still, rain will come......won't it?

Alex Cook's Anny McPhee makes her hurdling debut in the opening race at Perth today.

She's at the initial end of a jumping career with her future being in small handicap hurdles in the North. Anny McPhee hasn't shown much in a couple of bumpers thus far and will start as one of the outsiders in this mares only contest. Craig Nichol is once again in the saddle.

Probably don't have to look too far for the winner here as title chasing WP Mullins, looking to follow up last year's success, runs Magic McGolgan although fellow previous hurdles winner Mongibello (The Crawford Bros.) and Visual Impact (Lucinda) will make this an interesting race.
