Welcome back
It's been a wee while, and in response to the numerous prompts
regarding web site updates, here for both of you is how the Jumps Season
at Dodlands Steading is shaping up.
Horses in Training for 2024-25
By clicking the link below - or indeed using the drop down in the horizontal menu at the top of each page - you can find the horses in training at Dodlands Steading for the 2024-25 National Hunt Season.
Not quite as many horses this year as in previous seasons but the
vast majority are experienced handicappers, so we set out to be
competitive in each race in which we compete.
The undoubted star of the yard is
Both Barrels who enters into
his second season hurdling with a progressive profile. At the start of
this season, he's run 7 times, winning last time out and yet to finish
out of the first 4.
There's a couple of horses who are returning to racing having
undergone a wind operation during the summer break -
Eden Mill &
So Many Roads - so it'll
be a close watch on these pair on seasonal debut to gauge how much of a
success this has been.
On a more positive note, like Both Barrels, there are a couple of horses
who each won their final race in the Spring before enjoying a spell at summer grass.
Bollin Matilda (who is
actually on a hat-trick) and
Cowboy Cooper are the pair
to watch out for on return.
And, of course, we hope our hard-as-nails handicap hurdler Shoeshine Boy can continue with his brave displays in staying handicap hurdles in the North.
