Statistics from last
season (2023-24)
Continuing with our tradition here at Dodlands - aka "a' off the step
but oor Jock" - the Statistics
table below reflects the 12 month period from 1st
August to 31st July. And, mainly due to us being lazy, the Flat
Statistics cover the same period.
Just don't tell the BHA.
The win & placed horse statistics make impressive reading,
probably the best achieved yet at Dodlands Steading, so much kudos to
our hard working team at home in the yard.
For the record
with a combined 15 winners over the period.
The main reason for the difference from previous seasons is the
composition of the horses in the yard.
At the moment we've tried and tested handicappers in
the main with just a couple of bumper types and novice hurdlers who
usually require a few runs for experience prior to being truly
competitive in their handicapping class.
Probably the eye-catching horse from Dodlands in the 2023-34 Jumps
Season was the progressive hurdler
Both Barrels, owned by Ann
Marshall.
Placed in all of his seven races so far, (3 bumpers, 4
hurdles), he was particularly impressive on his final start when beating
that prolific winning hurdler Bushypark over an extended 2m 6f at Kelso
in April.
We hope he can continue to the fore in staying hurdles in 2024-25.

And what a Winter Season Pallas Lord enjoyed on the All Weather
surface at Newcastle.
5 wins, two 2nd places and a 2nd place on the AW at Wolverhampton thrown
in too.
A credit to his bunch of local owners who bought him at a
Horse-in-Training sale in early 2022 with a view to competing in the
local pony racing circuit!
