Couple of runners at Perth
An evening card at Perth where we go with a couple of runners. The going is a good deal faster than of late (good to soft) so it remains to be seen if this is a good thing or not (spoiler alert : the jury is out.....).
Perth 15th May : 6.52 pm 3m 2½f 0-110 Handicap Hurdle (Class 4)
After winning her last two on heavy & soft going,
Bollin Matilda takes a
step up in class to tackle a little further in this thrilling handicap
hurdle. She's up 7lb from her last victory here 3 weeks ago and up 11lb
since she was last acquainted with today's jockey (Dylan Johnston) when
winning at Newcastle about a month ago.
She is showing progressive form at this level, but you'd have to think
that she would need to continue that trend to win here.
Peter Bowen & his sons are regulars at Perth in the Spring and are represented here by Olivers Travels who has shown all his form on summer-type ground. First run since October but looks the sort to be trained for a good-ground campaign. Could well be the one to beat.
Local trainer Lucinda could probably walk her horses to the course and her Jem In Em has been in consistently good form this season and should make a bold effort to land this.

Perth 15th May : 7.22 pm 3m 0-100 Handicap Chase (Class 5)
Cowboy Cooper has come
close in recent races to getting his head in front and should again be
competitive in this staying chase. He's always finding 1 or 2 with a bit
more pace over the final couple of fences but fingers crossed he'll
nick a success one day.
Craig Nichol rides here for owner Bill Aitchison.
Euchan Falls has run some of his better races on this type of ground (good to soft) and won't be far away while the one at the foot of the handicap Whatchoutitscookie will have the noted assistance of David Noonan in the saddle.
