Just the one runner at Hexham on Wednesday

Craig Nichol is booked to ride our novice hurdler Cowboy Cooper in Division 1 of the 2m novice hurdle at Hexham on Wednesday. He's a nice type but has been a slow learner during his time here at Dodlands. This race is probably not quite up to the same level as his jumping debut last month, but as always, there are some in the field with promising form.
Advance going is good to soft.

The best of that hurdles form by quite some way is by previous bumper & hurdles winner You Wear It Well, who looked useful when winning on good ground at Worcester last month. The mare carries a winner's 7lb extra here. Martin Todhunter's Monaghan Boy also showed promise in bumpers last season and Brian Hughes is an eye-catching booking.

Rathgearan already has a handicap mark of OR98 but does look as if he'll be suited by a sterner test than even this 2 miles at Hexham presents here.

Nicky's Serious Mickey may have been a bit fortunate to win his Irish Point in April as the clear leader fell at the last. His dam won over 2m 4f so he is another that may be suited by longer distances while Rebecca's ex-Irish gelding Take Centre Stage ran well at Kelso last month before weakening close home. He was 50-1 that day and normal improvement would see him being very competitive.
Another mare in the field that has winning bumper form is Mark Walford's Perculator, a Telescope mare who is makes her hurdling debut. She is a half sister to a couple of winning hurdlers albeit at a modest level.
