28th March news

Hexham Tuesday

A 6-race card is on offer at Britain's highest racecourse Hexham, where the advance going is heavy.

10 runners are scheduled to go to post at 3.45pm for the 2½ mile Class 5 handicap hurdle, with our own Cowboy Cooper lining up. This is his handicap debut and he has hinted at ability here and there in his hurdle outings over 2 miles and this extra distance should suit.
Craig Nichol is in the saddle.

A modest handicap, and there are 2 or 3 not certain to be suited by testing conditions. Top weight Golan Cloud has won on heavy and is also a C&D winner and has dropped to a winnable mark. Lewa House is another C&D winner and has dropped back to that winning mark too.
Others have a wee bit to prove based on going and/or recent form but can't be ruled out, especially Sue Smith's Marty Time who realised €85,000 as a store and ran well at the start of February when 3rd in his first appearance in a handicap.

Cowboy Cooper will need to show some improvement to be involved in the finish but you never know.....
