Ayr Friday - Enemy At The Gate tries again
It's just like déjà vu all over again....
After Newcastle was cancelled on Tuesday, Henry Brooke and
Enemy At The Gate
try again in Div I of the 2m 4½f
handicap hurdle at Ayr on Friday 2.00pm.
Handicapped (currently OR94) on his fine run at Carlisle in
October 2021, but after a period on the sidelines he has yet to
recapture that level.
Realistically he hasn't shown much in two runs this season but
he has been pleasing us in his work on the morning gallops, so we hope
he can transfer that progress onto the racecourse.
13 runners and most - like our lad - have bits and pieces of form that show promise but are looking to put in a run that would confirm competitiveness at this level (Class 5 0-100). This may be more open than at first glance.
First time tongue tie is fitted.
With the extreme weather conditions for mid March, Ayr would indeed
live up to the name as an oasis of Western Scotland if the meeting is
on.
Like life in general, it's 6-5 against.
