Possible runners over the holiday period

A Happy New Year to all our readers

Well, one runner is definite as Maid of Houxty (Theo Gillard) goes for the 3m 1f handicap chase at Catterick on New Years Day. She ran a personal best last time when 2nd to Camp Belon at Kelso in November and we hope she can at least match that run here.

The following day, Monday, we hope to run a couple at Ayr, where the advance going is heavy.

So Many Roads (Craig Nichol) is entered in the 2m 4½f handicap hurdle. This will be his handicap debut and starts on a rating of OR94. His previous hurdle outings have been fairly low key but we hope he can show a bit of improvement in this company, a Class 5 0-100 event.

Later in the card, it would be nice to welcome back Enemy At The Gate (Henry Brooke) to the racecourse. He's been off for over a year with a fairly minor leg injury which has nevertheless required the requisite rest and recuperation period. He's in the 2m maiden hurdle and we hope for a nice, safe round of jumping in this, his 3rd, novice hurdle.
