Shoeshine Boy runs at Wetherby, Tuesday
Another early start for the owners and team.
This time Wetherby is the venue where
Shoeshine Boy runs in the
opening race on the card at 11.50, a 3 mile Class 5 handicap hurdle for
Conditional Jockeys. Young Lewis Dobb had ridden a couple our horses
recently and made the frame with each, so he seemed an obvious choice
for the mount on Shoeshine Boy here.
In two previous runs this season, our gelding hasn't run badly but just
hasn't quite yet re-captured the form of 2021-22.
19 runners......it sure is busy at this rime of year!
The Imposter is on a hat-trick after following up a Lingfield win
with another course & distance victory, in easy style a few days ago.
Carrying a 7lb penalty here, this progressive front runner will take a
bit of beating.
Talking of hat-tricks, Great Raffles could be considered unlucky not to
have completed one last time when beaten a nose (jockey dropped whip)
over just sort of 3 miles at Newcastle last month. Up 2lb, this
progressive c&d winner still looks handicapped to be involved in the
finish here.
Piaff Bubbles is another who was beaten narrowly last time and tries 3
miles for the first time. He would look to be suited by this trip and
comes from a yard in form.
Others could be involved but have patchy recent form, although Secret Secret should be noted. The gelding makes his debut for Neil Mulholland today, but he won a 21 runner flat handicap in October for Emmit Mullins over 14f at Navan.
Anyway, good luck to Mouse Young and his mates in Mousetrap Racing, and have a good ride Lewis.
