Hexham Monday

Lots of entries and declarations for Hexham's Monday meeting which with lots of weekend rain forecast will be riding on the easy side. Probably.

Maid of Houxty with Henry Brooke will contest the 3 mile handicap chase in the middle of the card. The combination were successful over this distance at Newcastle in the middle of March, and Bill Aitchison's mare has been raised 3lb subsequently.

A maximum field of 16 of which our mare is one of only 3 whom for which no additional 'equipment' has been declared.
Consistency is probably not the strong suit of runners in this grade - apart from Maid of Houxty that is.....- but Victor Thompson's Ex S'Elance has been winning well in Points and Under Rules these past few weeks and is a feared opponent.
Kinneston Nick's c&d winner Gipsy Lee Rose has tumbled down the weights racing on unsuitably heavy ground and may well appreciate a sounder surface.
