It's been a wee while.....
A wee while? Certainly since we've provided a news update from
Dodlands Steading.
No excuses......
The yard has had a couple of horses running on the flat during the summer while our only jumper during this period has been the lovely Presenting gelding Doldrum Bay, a top of the ground horse sent to us by Nick Orpwood. Couple of second places and a third from four runs, he'll round off his summer campaign on 1st October.
Anyway onto the NH 2021-22 Season, and the string have come in a bit
earlier than previously so much so that
Shoeshine Boy makes his seasonal
debut (and it's only September!) in Division II of the 2 mile novice
hurdle at Perth on Thursday.
Good to soft going and realistically Shoeshine Boy will be aimed at
small middle distance handicap hurdles soon enough and this is his
second outing in a novice.
Craig Nichol is in the saddle and best of luck to Mark Young and his Mousetrap Racing cohorts.

Incidentally our Web Team paid a visit to the yard earlier this
week. Actually turned up for Lot 1 (!) and left mid-afternoon armed with
lots of photos, stable staff gossip and details of the season's
prospects from Donald & Callum.
You can expect to see and read more on two of these topics in coming
days........................and if our palms are crossed with silver
maybe a snippet or two of the other.
And do keep looking in during the season, you know it makes sense.
