Division 1 of the extended 3 mile handicap hurdle at 5.05 sees Kinerton Hill upped in trip. He ran well enough on heavy ground at this course a couple of runs back and, on pedigree at least, he should appreciate the staying nature of this race.
We've probably landed in the more competitive division of this
contest (Div 2 follows half a hour later). There are 3 or 4 in form,
progressive horses in opposition headed at the top of the market by the
hat-trick seeking Freethinker but top-weight Celtic Tara and
Onestepatatime have strong claims also.
However, the eye-catching form is that of The Questioner who was demoted
into 2nd after winning comfortably over this distance at Southwell
recently. He runs off the same mark (re-assessed in the meantime 4lb
higher) and as long as this race hasn't come too soon, he looks the one
to beat.
Callum Bewley takes the ride for Simon Gillie, and good luck to all!

And a winner for the stable on the All Weather at Newcastle when Pallas
Lord won over 1 mile given a fine ride by Ryan Sexton.
Tracking the leaders, nicely placed, Ryan drove his mount to challenge
inside the final furlong and ran on well for a ¾ length victory.
This prompted huge celebrations in the local Stags Head bar here in Hawick. Well done, lads.
An hour earlier in the bumper at Musselburgh, Ellistrin Star was prominent until about 2 furlongs from home but couldn't quicken and dropped away.
