Nights In Venice on hurdling debut at Newcastle
The level of form shown by those with hurdles form, coupled with the promise of several others with fairly useful bumper form makes the 2m 4f maiden hurdle at Newcastle (2.25pm) into a comparatively hot affair. Add in the now George Bewley Irish Point placed Glenbeg Lake and it all makes us start to wonder if we've picked the right time to introduce Nights In Venice to hurdling.
Still, we do like the son of Midnight Legend and he continues to show lot of promise at home. Although Craig Nichol is riding one for Rose, he did pop into the yard on Sunday morning to pop Nights In Venice over some hurdles adding finishing touched to his preparation that Callum had been working on in recent weeks.
So, step forward Henry Brooke for the ride, and fingers crossed for a nice introduction. Advance going is good to soft.

Saturday racing review
Apologies from the Web Team who got caught up in the excitement of season winner #4 at Kelso on Sunday, and omitted to reflect of the debut of Paper Tiger in the bumper at a misty Wetherby on Saturday.
The sticky ground wouldn't have been in favour of this nice moving mare by Califet but she was another of our bumper horses who ran well for a long way. Indeed she still held every chance approaching the final furlong but had no more to give and dropped out of contention into 7th about 13 lengths away at the line.
Not without promise for the future.
