Recent runners review
A fairly quiet spell last week with one horse having its' third run over hurdles to obtain a handicap mark, and another couple of youngsters gaining experience from bumper outings.
Last Friday at Sedgefield, Eden Mill had his second run in a bumper. Didn't run badly in 7th, beaten 15 lengths and in terms of green-ness he showed the benefit of his initial run at Musselburgh at the end of October. He's just a 4 year old and may not have been suited by the undulations of that County Durham course - remains a horse of some promise.
Another of our young group made his initial racecourse appearance at Newcastle on Thursday. Time For Heroes is very much a staying sort by Libertarian, he lost touch with the leading group and dropped to the rear entering the home straight.
Thursday also saw Maid of Houxty step up in trip in the 2m 6f novices' hurdle. She seemed to travel well enough in rear until the pace quickened 5 out where she dropped out of touch. She should get a handicap mark on Tuesday, so maybe we'll look for something shorter.
Morning Gallops Saturday Watch And Smile
MGSWAS - with a apologies to Chris, Sally, Lenny & Spit The Dog for the misappropriation.
Cold, dark and dreich - you wouldn't send a dog out on a morning like
that.........
So the Website Team Management duly dispatched local owner Ian Aitken
onto the gallops with a shaky camera to capture some action.

Featuring a couple of our younger, unraced horses on a Saturday work
out.
Ellistrin Star
(Garry, nearside) and So Many
Roads (Callum) complete a nice piece of work although both are still a few
weeks away from seeing a racecourse.
Following at a discrete distance are
Lady Villanelle (Laura),
Kinerton Hill (Pinky),
Bonny Houxty (Leah) and 'Bella'
(Zoe) at a steady pace.
Kinerton Hill holds an entry at Uttoxeter on Friday.
Neigh Botha (Callum) is back in full training after picking up a minor knock. He's in this gallop with Stolen Money (Garry) and 'Emily' (Laura). Recent Newcastle runners Time For Heroes (Pinky) and Maid Of Houxty (Leah) had a stretch of the legs and Zoe brought up the rear on Stainsby Girl.
Not much racecourse action (as in not any) until Friday at the earliest. Have a good week....till next week.
