Musselburgh on the level with Pallas Lord
While the dry weather and even drier ground conditions continue to thwart thoughts of any National Hunt runners in the next week, Pallas Lord runs in the closing mile handicap at Musselburgh on Saturday (4.57pm).
He does take a slight step up in grade to a Class 5 (0-70) and up 3lb
but probably more of a doubt is the nature of this East Lothian track.
Tight, right-handed with ground (good to soft) much quicker than he's
encountered for some time. Indeed his best form has been on a slow AW
surface or genuine soft ground on turf. 12 runners so it could get a bit
tight going into that first bend and Pallas Lord has been drawn out on
the cycle track........
His successful jockey the last twice - Irish teenager Ryan Sexton - rode
a double at Ripon on Thursday but has been booked to ride at Lingfield
so Mark Johnson's apprentice Jonny Peate is in the saddle.
Contrastingly, the favourite Makeen is down in grade here and looks the one to beat.
