Today's runner at Ayr

Side of the Road is the first of our post vaccination horses to run, and she contests the 2m handicap hurdle at Ayr today.

She's a mare who always seems to attract market support in her races, although this is definitely not 'smart money' from the stable. Her form on the  racecourse is what it is, although we're always pleased with this lovely mare at home.
Looking at the race, a 1-100 handicap, it's a mixture of lightly raced sorts, horses looking to recapture form and a Jim Goldie puzzler. Scobie's Castaliera may come out best, with Side of the Road being one of the outsiders.

She is a well made type, and has an eye-catching pedigree being a full sister to a Listed placed horse in Ireland, with Champion Hurdle contender Global Citizen close up in the family.
With such an active family, we've always had one eye on the paddocks for 'Katie' and it may well be that's where she heads after today, for a date with a stallion of her choice!

Still, the drop back to 2 miles may (?) suit her and it would be nice to grab a place. Callum takes the ride.

Look out for a full review of our racing exploits Sunday and today, on Tuesday at your favourite website.
