7th April news

Review from Newcastle yesterday

Saturday at Newcastle probably turned out for us as much as expected.

The Boo Box gained more racing experience, and his jumping is steadily improving, but wasn't really able to land a blow in the 2½ mile novice hurdle. He was in touch until turning into the home straight at which point the pace of the race quickened markedly.
He's a workmanlike sort, and we think he can be competitive in handicap hurdles at the right grade.

Hope he can get a handicap mark (on Tuesday) and we can start to look for suitable races.

Keyboard Gangster ran well for a long way in the 2 mile handicap hurdle. At least, he showed his well being by jumping well and travelling with his usual zest (!). Lack of a recent run probably told as he held every chance 2 out but couldn't quicken with the leaders.
Still, beaten just over 5 lengths in 4th, this was a heartening run and we'd hope to find another opportunity before the end of the season.
