23rd April news

Onecallaway runs at Sedgefield today

We're hoping that Onecallaway will have benefited from her initial racecourse appearance at Ayr at the start of February as she goes again in the bumper this afternoon at Sedgefield.

The unseasonal weather never ceases to abate!

The entire country enjoyed Mediterranean temperatures over the whole Easter weekend and while we all basked in glorious, clear blue skies Clerks of the Courses performed rain dances and turned on the irrigation taps. Like all of the other NH trainers, we've entered our entire string at various races in the 3-day Perth Festival this week (eh? a bit of hyperbole there, Donald - ed) but remain concerned over the prospects of fast ground for our jumpers.

Anyway, it might, just might, suit one or two of our bumper youngsters but it has been a very frustrating few months with the lack of rain restricting runners from Dodlands.

So, what of today?
Onecallaway was well beaten on debut, but has shown to us at home that she is better than that beforehand and afterwards.
Not to say we're expecting our Getaway mare to be involved in the finish, but look for her to show a bit of promise that we think she possesses.
