21st September news

Wor Lass in at Newcastle tomorrow

It's an evening meeting tomorrow at Newcastle, but Wor Lass runs in the first at 5.45 so it'll feel like an afternoon race to us.
Young Rowan Scott is riding at Ayr tomorrow (weather permitting) but we've managed to renew an old acquaintance with Dougie Costello albeit dating back to when he was an occasional jump jockey last year.
The step up in trip to 2 miles on the Tapeta at Newcastle since this time last year should help our mare, but it's also a step back into Class 4 handicaps. I guess you can't have everything.........

Good luck to all involved, and we know Les is looking forward to the evening as always!

Stable news

Mild and damp this morning.
No doubt at the end of this month, Judith Ralston (voted top 'weather girl' in a recent poll at Dodlands) will tell us all that it's been the September with the heaviest rainfall in the last 30 years......

Horses are progressing without incident, and it was nice to see Greg Aitken pop into the yard this morning for an hour or so lending a hand. You've not lost the knack! Greg's parents are spending a few days abroad taking in Niagara Falls, and we know Ian will be missing out on those Dodlands' weekday mornings, so we've published the photo below showing Ian's favourite sisters Paper Roses and Paper Promise.

Happy couple of days, see you Sunday.

Another trio of fillies
