Hexham reflections
It was just about the worst ground (bottomless, muddy) that Callum
can recall riding in. Hexham yesterday, and we don't think
Tomahawk Wood was too
enamored with being asked to race in the conditions.
He seemed to sulk even approaching the first, and put in a forgettable
performance.
For the record, after being chased along in mid division he was losing touch with the fourth horse when pulled up before the last.
The gelding has won on heavy and soft, but these were wet conditions not so much muddy as yesterday. He was as bright as a button and straight into his grub upon coming home, so we'll look for a race around 2m 4f in a few weeks time - and avoid the mud!
