Big Bad Dream heads to Carlisle tomorrow
Big Bad Dream has his 4th and final race in a bumper at Carlisle tomorrow evening - with the clocks changing the race is due off at 5.45pm!
He has been placed in a couple of similar races already, most
recently in a 3 horse race at Ayr a few weeks ago. Of those in
opposition only Indian Opera has an RPR better than our lad, but as
always, you'd expect some stern opposition from those making their debut
under Rules. A couple from across the Irish Sea may prove the best of
these with Minella Mystics and Dr. Sanderson.
Minella Mystics finished a 6 length runner up in an Irish Point in
November with a long way back to the remainder, while the pedigree of Dr
Sanderson doesn't scream out 'bumper winner' but the combination of
Crawford Bros./Brian Hughes certainly does.
Elsewhere, Nicky R runs a newcomer in Court Dreaming who is a brother to bumper winner Judge Earle. The other horse in the race to catch the eye is ex-David Loder trained Midas Gold who Brian Ellison trains for Phil Martin. A winner of his only race 18 months ago, this gelding gives 7lb and more to the field and you'd think would need to improve upon form shown previously to win here.....not out of the question though.
Big Bad Dream may just sneak into a place but, either way, this will be another good step in gaining racing experience.
Paper Roses 4th at Sedgefield on Friday
Although 4th, this was well short of the form that Paper Roses is capable of.
She did look a bit stiff behind after the race, and also when pulled out this morning. She'll be checked out this week, but it may well be that a period of rest on the sidelines is in order, so may not appear again until next season.
