Baby Ticker runs at Ayr on Sunday

The heavy ground that has been prevalent throughout the UK seems to have taken it's toll in terms of racecard entries. I mean, take Ayr on Sunday. At declaration time on Friday at 10 am, there are a total of 38 runners for 7 races, with two 3-horse races.
One of these 3 runner events involves our handicap hurdling mare Baby Ticker, in the mares' handicap over 2m 3½f. The going is heavy of course, and all three runners have won last time out, and need no introduction to Northern racing fans.

Beyondtemptation has won 13 of her 71 career races, the last of which was just this Monday past beating her sole rival at Newcastle.  She carried 7lb extra for that victory which came at one of her favourite courses - Hexham is another - but she has yet to win at Ayr from 4 attempts. A real mudlark who will revel in the conditions.

The Delray Munky has been a frequent visitor to Kelso in the last 12 months, and got off the mark by winning very easily in the mud at Ayr 10 days ago. She's been raised a whopping 15lb for that win but she could not have won any easier although was off the bridle halfway! Course and distance winner in the same testing conditions, she'll be a worthy favourite to follow up.

Like Scobie's mare, our horse also has a progressive profile and has shot up 13lb this season with a couple of good runs (2nd and 1st) over 2 miles in soft/heavy ground.
Three horse races can be meddling affairs sometimes, but Beyondtemptation has only one way of running, going forward from the off and it doesn't really matter how many horses are following in her wake. Baby Ticker would prefer a bigger field as she can start to look around for company but is a course winner.

Interesting event, and short-ish odds don't make much appeal in a betting sense, but we can only see how things pan out.
