Borders Dream debut at Carlisle on Wednesday
Our 2 year old colt by Dream Ahead named Borders Dream makes his racecourse debut at Carlisle tomorrow in the opening event on the card.
The youngster might just find the 6 furlongs a bit on the sharp side for him, and
the current good to soft going, which is prevalent throughout the country,
may not be ideal, but we hope that he enjoys the experience and then
comes on for the run. Connor Beasley takes the ride, his first for the
stable.
The lads of the Onwards and Upwards partnership will be out in force,
and win, lose or draw we hope that it is an enjoyable day for all.

And Wor Lass runs too
The form of Wor Lass' latest
run when 3rd in a Class 4 handicap at Ayr on the last day in July has
been boosted by the subsequent runs of the first two. Both Dubawi Fifty
and Tor have won their races next time out at a higher grade, and Wor
Lass wasn't beaten that far by the pair, with 15 lengths back to the 4th
horse. Collateral form doesn't always hold up, and our 9 year old
consistent mare remains vulnerable to improving sorts but she has been a
model of consistency in the main this season, and remains in good heart.
Tomorrow's chances?
Wor Lass takes on 8 opponents in the 1m 6f handicap at Carlisle tomorrow
which is a Class 4 race, and the only word of warning is that all 9 of
the mare's victories have come in Class 5 or lower grades. Lets hope she
can improve upon her three 3rd places this season, although in all
honesty she has run near her best in the majority of this season's
outings.
Rachel Richardson rides tomorrow and she has a 100% record on Wor Lass
having won on the mare a couple of years ago (no pressure then, eh?
- ed) so all fingers are crossed for owner-breeder Les Dodds.
