Baby Ticker heads to Ayr tomorrow.....
....where the Festival season continues with Ayr hosting the 2-day Scottish Grand National meeting.
Its seems like months (ed - it is) since Ayr held a meeting on good to
soft going, but it's only been a few days of drying wind and sunshine so
it really is a remarkable change in going.
And that's not necessarily going to suit
Baby Ticker whose four runs
this season have been a model of consistency - on going ranging from soft
to unraceable. Winning one, she's come up
against a well handicapped rival on a couple of occasions so while
looking exposed in 2½ mile handicap hurdles, the step up to 3 miles
tomorrow may see her improve. Her sire, the late Endoli, is known for
imparting stamina into his stock, so our hopes are not without some
foundation!
Our mare finished well in a Class 2 handicap hurdle last time and tackles a similar grade tomorrow. 16 runners, highly competitive and a couple at the top of the handicap that catch the eye - with form on a sound surface - are Treacle Tart and Tara View. If the field go off quickly, Baby Ticker may be outpaced early on but we'd hope she'll be staying on from 3 out and finishes well.
