December 2017
** placed runner cover those of our horses in the first 4 in a race where there is prize money
won
The particularly cold and wet spell endured during December had an adverse effect on our runners at the racecourse, as we have 4 or 5 ready to run early in the New Year that were prevented from running during that month.
In gauging the quality of performance achieved by the string, the Racing
Post Ratings (RPR) are once again used as a benchmark. Taking an RPR of 100 to represent an average level of performance, the
yard had 4 of our 8 horses who ran one or more performances at, or at a higher
level than, an RPR of 100 during the first part of the season.
The table below lists
each of these individual performances.
Horse | Race Type | Date | RPR
Baby Ticker | Handicap hurdle | December 17 | 113
Paper Roses | Handicap hurdle | December 17 | 116
Handicap hurdle | November 17 | 118+
Shades of Midnight | Novice chase | November 17 | 123
Eternally Yours | NH Flat | December 17 | 104+
NH Flat | November 17 | 103 |
Almost as noteworthy is the performance of a progressive mare (at a modest level) who achieved an eye-catching mark on her most recent run.
Horse | Race Type | Date | RPR
Side of the Road | Handicap hurdle debut (off a mark of OR99) | December 17 | 92
So, lost of room for improvement in the second half of the season then!
As always, many thanks to the team - Sarah B, Lisa, Callum, Pinky, Kingy,
Murray plus our vet Sarah S, and Mrs W!
Thanks to all our owners too, it goes without saying none of this would
be possible without you.
