Carlisle racing review

Reasonably happy I guess.

Baby Ticker jumped well until tiring after 4 out, and will be better suited to staying handicap hurdles with a bit of cut in the ground.

Shouldering 11st 12lb is quite demanding in a Class 2 handicap hurdle, and Callum held up Shades of Midnight off a fairly quick pace. Jumping well until a slight peck 5 out when making headway to track the leading group, Shady showed some nice pace to make his way into 3rd at the bottom of the hill, where he was not fluent at 3 out, after which the gelding stayed on at the one pace.
A very encouraging reappearance, and 3 miles on soft ground will be on his agenda next time.
