Fine seasonal debut run by Wor Lass at Newcastle (Saturday evening)

Wor Lass delighted her owner-breeder Les Dodds - and all of us here at Dodlands - with a fine 3rd place at Newcastle's All Weather track on Saturday evening.

Settled in rear of the 9 runners, Wor Lass travelled nicely for Garry and still held every chance at the 2 furlong marker. However, as befits a horse whose best distance lies between 1m 5f and 2m, she found herself caught for pace as the first two quickened for home in the 12 furlong event. Still, she kept on gamely to hold on the third place and please any supporters who were on each way at 50-1!

We'll see how she comes out of this race over the next few days but all being well look out for the mare in about a fortnight's time.
