Snapping Turtle at Catterick tomorrow

Snapping Turtle is entered in the 3m 1f handicap hurdle at Catterick tomorrow, where over course and distance a couple of years ago he ran well to finish a runner up in a handicap. Callum again takes the ride, and our veteran gelding is slowly coming down in the ratings.
However, as we've stated more than once, we couldn't recommend having any interest in him as a betting proposition until the stable comes back into form.

Shades of Midnight's 5th at Carlisle on Sunday

Shades of Midnight did finish in the first 6 on Sunday in this Pertemps Qualifier, and in the process is now eligible to run in the series final at the Cheltenham Festival.
He hasn't built upon his excellent season opener at Carlisle in late October as yet, but we know the 6 year old son of Midnight Legend is a useful stayer and patience may well be the key over the next couple of months. In yesterday's race, Callum kept the gelding fairly prominent but couldn't quicken from 2 out.
