Shades of Midnight runs at Carlisle tomorrow

Shades of Midnight heads off down the A7 to Carlisle tomorrow, where he and Callum will contest a Pertemps Qualifier over 3m 1f. Shady is a course winner, and will be suited by the soft ground.
Our yard have not really hit form this season, and Shady's BHA mark of 145 is based upon his best run last season when second to Silsol at Kelso in April. So, it may not be with our usual amount of confidence that we go into the race, but wish all connections an enjoyable day.

Tomahawk Wood on debut at Newcastle

The first fence was quite eventful in this novices chase, as our gelding did overjump a little and a couple of nearby horses were early casualties. This did effect him, as he didn't really take a cut at his fences from there on in.

Having said that, although a bit adrift of the leaders, Tomahawk Wood did gain a bit of confidence later in the race, and stayed on encouragingly to finish fifth.

He'll improve for the run, and we'll be looking for a similar event in a few weeks time.
