First autumn runners at Kelso tomorrow
Heavy ground at Kelso in the autumn!!
After the summer break, our first runners appear at Kelso
tomorrow.
That consistent mare Leith Walk is probably the more obvious of
our duo of entrants
in terms of a winning chance. She progressed well last season on soft
ground and has run very well on heavy (form figures 21) in the past.
She runs well fresh, but on the downside she will be our first runner of
the autumn and we'll know how far forward the string is after her race.
Callum comes in for the ride, his allowance now down to 5lb.
Leith Walk runs in the 2m handicap hurdle at Kelso on Saturday
King Kalium has just sneaked into the closing 2m 7f handicap hurdle for
conditional jockeys. Ryan Nichol has his first ride since taking out his
conditional jockeys licence on the gelding.
We've been quietly pleased with King Kalium this season at home,
although he has to put up 10lb more than his long handicap mark to
compete here.
King Kalium will be going chasing this season, but he'll gain more
experience under his belt in a couple of hurdle races meantime.
Good luck to our owners, and enjoy the day!!
