29th October news

Night Comes In out of sorts at Kelso yesterday

There were several promising horses from Northern yards in this 2 mile maiden hurdle at Kelso yesterday making it a competitive event, but it was more the manner of performance that left us deflated by Night Comes In 10th place.
Never jumping well at all, and in truth never really travelling, this run was not a patch on his two promising efforts last season.

We'll monitor his condition closely over the next few days, and ask our vet Sarah to have a look at him to see if anything obvious arises with the gelding.

Out Flat Season draws to a close

Both our horses which represented the yard over the Summer and early Autumn on the flat have now been roughed off, and will spend the next few months having a break from training.
Borders Dream has been gelded and although he didn't show too much on the racecourse, we feel there's ability in this attractive gelding's compact frame.

Without adding to her admirable tally of 9 race wins on the flat in 2017, Wor Lass nevertheless ran several fine races and was placed 5 times. We did toy with the idea of one final run at Catterick on Tuesday (last day in October) but she was showing signs of being slightly 'over the top' having raced a dozen times since early June.
