Back at Ayr on Saturday
Ayr 9th March : 4.18 pm 3m ½f 0-100 Handicap Hurdle (Class 5)
Day 2 of Ayr's March meeting - going is now good to soft - and we are represented by Callum's Bollin Matilda.
In a race that looks a wide open betting heat, there's considerable
representation from a host of Scottish trainers.
Kinneston Nick runs three,
Lucinda two and one each from Coltherd, Thomson, Catch Bissett, Ian Duncan & Sandy
Forster.
Indeed, Sandy Forster's Gypsy's Secret will be a popular choice amongst
those looking to have a bet but her best form has come on soft/heavy and
the quickening ground here may not suit. Small margins etc., but then
again the
slightly faster ground may not suit many others in this race.
Ian Duncan's Toombridge
looks a possible exception and so would be a speculative e.w. choice at long odds.
Bollin Matilda? Well, after an excellent run in a handicap hurdle when 3rd at Carlisle, she was unable to build on that performance on very much softer ground at Ayr in mid January. So, she'll be one of the outsiders but no forlorn hope as this slightly sounder surface could be to her benefit. Craig Nichol is in the saddle.
